Back of the box. . .

“It’s Halloween night, and the local teenagers have unwittingly unleashed an ancient curse that will turn their quiet New England town upside down! A group of uninvited guests—ghouls, ghosts, vampires and angry zombies—leave the graveyard to join in the Halloween celebration! Now, the spirited teens have only a few hours until midnight to reverse the curse, and save the town from the ghastly visitors. The result is a hilarious blend of humor and horror.
The Midnight Hour is an enjoyable cross between Night of the Living Dead and An American Werewolf in London (Video Guide), a treat filled with tricks and entertainment for the whole family!”

Director: Jack Bender
Starring: Lee Montgomery, Shari Belafonte, LeVar Burton, Peter DeLuise

“Lookout it’s The Midnight Hour, baby!” In this made for TV Halloween special the dead rise from their graves and are ready to party! Walking corpses find their way to a high school costume party where they fit in just fine, eating popcorn, making out, and even joining in on choreographed dance numbers. It all starts as a joke when, fresh off a museum heist, a group of friends retreat to a cemetery where they find an old scroll tucked away in their score. Melissa—the teenage ancestor of a powerful witch who once cursed the town—is nominated to read the ancient incantation while surrounded by carelessly abandoned fog machines. Because nothing instantly happens they all go their separate ways but if only they’d held out for a few more seconds. . . Zombies, werewolves, vampires, and witches crawl out from their graves and aimlessly wander the streets unnoticed among the trick or treaters. As the Halloween Standards slowly infect the townspeople, Phil—the teenage ancestor of The Witch Hunter General who banished the witch—is the only person who seems to notice and must reverse the curse by midnight or his friends and family will never be the same.

The Midnight Hour features an amazing soundtrack and some very recognizable cast members, including LeVar Burton (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Reading Rainbow), Peter DeLuise (21 Jump Street), Kurtwood Smith (Robocop, That 70’s Show), and Kevin McCarthy (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Howling). So blow out the jack-o-lanterns, keep that trick or treater candy for yourself, and relive one of the last great eras of Halloween Specials before they became excuses to put Disney stars and American Idol contestants in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
